Last night's rain helped to bring in a little bit of cooler weather. We have been getting used to having weather in the 70s and 80s as of late, but last night the temperature ended up being dropped down into the upper 40s. I do feel, though, that is will pass very quickly and we will be back to enjoying the summer weather that is upon us.
I am excited about seeing Hope again in a couple of days. We are looking at going either bowling or mini golfing depending on the amount of time that we will be ending up having once I get down there to see her. We have been enjoying each other's company and talking on the phone. I am learning alot about her and enjoying the fact that she is a believer just like me.
My weekly discipleship lunch with Pastor Scott is today and we will be discussing in our lesson today about giving. This was a good lesson because it showed me that even though I may not have enough money or things, that I should still give when it is placed on my heart to and this will help to give me more heavenly things and take my focus off of the earthly things here. I am becoming sad that the end of my discipling is coming to a close soon, but excited about the foundation that I have built and the possible opportunity to eventually disciple others in the future.
The Sermon on the mount is an important speech that was given by Jesus and one that shows what the Christian life is all about. Here is the part that I am currently learning:
"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a moutain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: For they shall obtain mercy."
-Matthew 5:1-7
Now for the 5 things that I am thankful for today are:
1) Hope, my girlfriend
2) my next breath
3) the vitamin water I am drinking
4) my health
5) my jobs

Wonderful Weekend
Friday started off kinda weird for me. I went to go to my drug screen for the Georgia Sheet Metal company that I am in the process of going after an apprenticeship for and I ended up having to use the restroom with another person watching me. Talk about being uncomfortable. I ended up doing it, though, and of course passed the drug test and now just in the process of waiting to hear when my interview will be. I am very excited about this and hope that I am able to be accepted into the program come June.
Saturday was by far the best day of the weekend. There was gorgeous weather and I got to go to the Braves game. I also got to see Hope and go to it with her, which made the experience of seeing my first Braves game this year all the more fun, even though they lost. I am feeling great about this new relationship and just taking it day by day to not get too crazy about it. Keeping God at the forfront of this relationship will help to make sure that it will be a successful one and one that I am always learning from.
The bible verses that I am learning and trying to memorize at the current moment are:
(A) "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but it is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentence." - 2 Peter 3:9
(B) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
(C) "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." - Hebrews 10:25
(D) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23
(E) "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew the great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." - Jeremiah 33:3
The 5 things that I am most thankful for today are:
1) my next breath
2) Hope
3) the sun shining
4) my car

Crazy Storm
Last night there was a crazy storm that came through the south in Alabama and Georgia. In some parts, a tornado formed and this caused many deaths to occur. My thoughts and prayers go out to these families as well as the ones who have injured loved ones and damaged homes. This is a terrible tragedy, but another sign that we are getting ever so more closer to the joyful return of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The times, though, will be rough for believers, but by obidence and dedication to our Lord, we will be able to perserve through it all.
The meeting that I had with my pastor yesterday during lunch time went well. We met at a Greek restaurant close to work, which has some great food. The discussion was about the Will of God and covered his sovereign, moral and individual wills(this one really does not happen anymore, even though at times we try to think that it still does). God's sovereign will is his will that he makes happen no matter what we want, like the weather and creation of the earth and heavens. God's moral will for us is that will that he would like to have happen in our lives, but it is are decision in whether or not it happens; like abstaining from fornication and thanking him for what he has done for us. This lesson was great and showed me that what God wants for my life can be drastically different from what I want, but that he wants the best for my life and I just need to place my trust in him.
I am going to every other day, write out the part of the Sermon on the Mount that I am trying to learn and dedicate to memory.
"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kindgom of Heaven.

2) the rain cleansing the earth last night
3) my friends
4) my car that runs
5) my health

Seconds
This will be my second post in this journey. Today has started off very interesting with my job having their servers being up and down all morning, but finally we are up and running and hopefully will stay up for the remainder of the time I am at work today.
I get to go meet with my pastor today for another lesson in our discipleship program. This lesson covered the Will of God. I enjoyed this lesson because it showed the will that God has for my life and that I need to follow and trust him rather than myself when it comes to the matters of my life. When life gets tough and I feel like I have no one to turn to, alot of the time I try to look to myself when I should really look to God for his guidance and wisdom to overcome the situation or at least look at the possibilities that I am in the situation.
I am also happy that I get to go to the Grace Midtown house church again tonight. It has seemed like forever since I last went and I enjoyed hanging out the fellow belivers this past saturday and look forward to seeming them tonight as well as worshipping and fellowshipping with them in the Lord tonight.
Some of the passages that I am looking at memorzing for this week are as follows:
(1) "The Lord is not slow to fulfull his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9
(2) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
(3) "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." - Hebrews 10:25
(4) "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23
The five things that I am thankful for today are:
1) that I woke up this morning
2) family and friends
3) my two jobs
4) my next breath
5) the house that I live in

My first post
This is my first post in this journey and walk with the Lord. I have been walking faithfully with the Lord since I came to the faith in December 2008, right before the passing of my mother. That was a rough time for me, but with faithful friends and family as well as an awesome God, I have been able to overcome and stay positive through the struggles that I have been through. This blog will help to show the walk that I am having with the Lord and what he is teaching me everyday and every week that I am alive and able to bless him.
Right now I am listening to a series and learning about the spiritual disciplines that are used to help edify the body of Christ. The first ones that I have learned about are meditation, memorization and journaling. These disciplines are used to help in the walk with the Lord, but are not a means for salvation or to do as just a means for work to get into God's good graces.
I am also trying to learn the Sermon on the Mount because it was an important speech, of Jesus Christ my savior, and good to know during times of trial and tribulation as well as everyday living.
Matthew 5:1-7
"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy."
I am also going to be listing the 5 things that I am thankful for and that God has set on my heart to acknowledge.
1.) my family and friends
2.) the chance to wake up this morning
3.) my next breath that I am going to be taking
4.) the beautiful weather today
5.) the flowers and trees outside of my house
